In February 2013, another 2Checkout account we operate received what turned out to be a fraudulent order. The order however was passed by 2co's fraud control.
Some weeks later, we received notification from 2co that the payment had been charged back as fraud. A $20 charge was applied, and the full amount refunded by 2co. It was the first chargeback on the account in several years.
In March 2013 we received notification from 2co that they had closed our account with immediate effect, locking up the funds for 13 weeks, on the basis of an unacceptable chargeback rate.
Anyone considering using 2Checkout should consider this carefully. 2Checkout can and will close your account with immediate effect, and lock up any funds you have for several months. It does not matter than you have nearly 8 years of history with them, it does not matter that it is your first chargeback in several years, and it does not matter that they themselves passed it through their fraud screening.
